MTV Video Music Awards resmi digelar pada Minggu 28 Agustus 2022. Acara penghargaan untuk video musik terbaik ini disiarkan langsung dari Prudential Center di Newark, New Jersey.
Perlu kita tahu ada banyak kategori di MTV VMA 2022 ini. Seperti Video of the year, yang mana penghargaan ini disabet oleh Taylor Swift dengan video musik All Too Well. Selain Video of the year, All Too Well juga borong penghargaan lain seperti Best Long Form Video dan Best Director.
Ada pula kolaborasi Lil Nas dan Jack Harlow yang memborong penghargaan dengan video musik Industry Baby.
Kemudian ada penyanyi muda, Billie Eilish yang menang di kategori Song of the year.
Selain itu, ada musisi-musisi Asia yang juga membawa pulang penghargaan di ajang VMA 2022.
Ada Boy Group asal Korea Selatan, BTS yang menang di nominasi group of the year, dan Seventeen di kategori PUSH Performance of the Year. Tak ketinggalan, Girl Group BLACKPINK yang menang di kategori Best Metaverse Performance dengan kolaborasinya bersama PUBG. Yang lebih membahagiakan, salah satu member Blackpink ini mendapat penghargaan Best K-Pop dengan projek solonya “Lalisa”.
